Scott is originally from Fife in Scotland. He began drumming at the age of six at Burntisland and District Pipe Band and was previously a member of the Scottish Power Pipe Band drum corps, winners of the 2019 British Championship. Scott was also a long time member of Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band in Grade 1 with a highlight of winning World Drum Corps Championships in 2012.

Scott has a BA Honours Degree in Scottish Music and after his studies he moved to Invercargill, where he led the drum corps of the City of Invercargill Highland Pipe Band and was employed by the Southland Piping and Drumming Development Trust.

Scott’s previous role before moving back to New Zealand and St Andrew’s College was Head of Pipe Band Drumming at Scotch College in Melbourne, Australia.
