By signing this pledge, you commit not to give your child a smartphone until at least the beginning of Year 9. You may still provide your child with a basic phone (calls and texts only), which avoids many of the distractions and risks associated with smartphones.

We also encourage you to print and complete the Mobile Phone Family Agreement with your tamariki.

How it Works

Once 10 families from your child’s class have signed the pledge, it becomes active. You’ll receive an email confirming activation, along with a list of participating families and their contact emails (if consent is given). This network of like-minded parents helps you support each other. There’s strength in numbers!

Tips for Signing

• one form per child: Please complete a separate pledge for each of your children in the Preparatory School;
• one parent signature is sufficient per child;
• you’ll be notified once the pledge is active for your child’s class.
