Communications

Club and Student Communication

Student and club communication around training schedules, camps, regattas and general club information will be shared in person at trainings and re communicated via the rowing channel on Microsoft Teams.  Lead coaches will be able to contact the rowers via their squad Teams group and private Teams messenger. It is important that coach's personal phones or social media accounts are not used by students to communicate with coaches.

Student and coach communication regarding selection for major regattas will be done one on one with all students after testing. If students need more clarity after their one on one with the coach, they can meet with the Director of Rowing.

Student and club communication around general progression will take place informally at weekly trainings and formally one on one at all training and selection camps. It is encouraged that rowers use pre and post row opportunities to talk with coaches around how to improve throughout the season.

Student and club communication regarding pastoral matters such as personality clashes between students or any other student concerns, that students would prefer to bring up with someone outside of the coaching team can be communicated with teachers Liam Smith and Georgia Boyes in person or via direct messaging on Teams.

Club and Parent Communication

Administrative matters such as uniform, season dates, upcoming camp and regatta information and monthly newsletters will be communicated between the Rowing Manager, Liam Parker (LPA@stac.school.nz) or the Novice Programme Co-ordinator, Kendal Everest (KEV@stac.school.nz), and parents via email.

Parent and club communications regarding group parent meetings, individual parent meetings, queries around coaching, the coaching team and health and safety, will be communicated to and from the Rowing Manager, Liam Parker (LPA@stac.school.nz).

Parent to Parent Communication

The rowing committee will provide communications via email around, parent functions, fundraising events, parent volunteer rosters and other helpful parent information.

Chairperson of the committee Craig Lewis will usually be available at regattas to help answer any questions you have from a former, current and future rowing parent perspective.
