2026 Key Dates

Term 2

Royal New Zealand Ballet at St Andrew's College Annual Residency – Wednesday 13–Friday 15 May (timetable to be published closer to event)

Junior Performance Awards (Preparatory School students, Years 3–7, by self-selection)

Lesson dates: Sunday 7, Sunday 14 and Sunday 21 June, plus Wednesday 24 June (event day)

The dances will be performed at the Junior Performance Awards and Senior Showcase (more information below). Sign-ups for this opportunity will be emailed out later this term.

Junior Performance Awards and Senior Showcase

Wednesday 24 June at 6.30pm – Gough Family Theatre, Ngā Toi Performing Arts Centre

(A presentation of Secondary and Company dances, with the Junior Performance Awards)

Tentative timetable:

  • Period 4: 11.45am–12.35pm – Stage runs for Junior Performance Awards
  • Lunch: 12.55pm–1.15pm – All dancers: stage placement for Awards and curtain-call placings
  • 1.15pm–2.30pm – Stage rehearsal Years 9–13 and Preparatory School companies (Junior and Intermediate)

Evening schedule:

  • 5.45pm – Years 9–13 stage warm-up (15 minutes)
  • 6.00pm – Preparatory School warm-up (10 minutes)
  • 6.10pm – Stage clearance and audience in
  • 6.30pm – Show commences (expected finish between 7.45pm and 8.00pm)

Ballet Company (Years 12 and 13) Annual Exam – Thursday 25 June, after school (to be confirmed)

Term 3

Annual Ballet Photo – Friday 31 July, Gym 1

All dancers, 8.00am start. Expected finish at 8.30am.

Years 1–7 Exams and Practices

  • Final Exam Practice: Sunday 2 August (exam preparation class)
  • Exam dates: Sunday 9–Tuesday 11 August

Timetable to be confirmed and published closer to the event.

Years 8–11 NZAMD Exams and Solo Performance (Year 13 option)

Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 August (tentative booking, to be confirmed)

St Andrew's College Dance Revue

Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August, plus rehearsal dates that week.

Includes all dancers from Years 9–13, plus Junior and Intermediate Companies (Preparatory School Friday lunch groups).

Term 4

Annual Production

These dates will be reconfirmed and timetabled later in the year.

  • Sunday 11 October – ‘Super Sunday’ rehearsal (last day of the holidays), typically Years 2–13
  • Sunday 1 November – Theatre rehearsal (costumes, as available) – all students

Pre-production Week

  • Thursday 19, Friday 20 and Sunday 22 November – Stage placement and technical rehearsals (Note: Preparatory School Chapel at 4.00pm) 
  • Years 9–13: Hold the date for Saturday 21 November for an afternoon rehearsal, if needed

Production Week

  • Tuesday 24 November – Dress Rehearsal
  • Thursday 26 November – Show 1: School preview (morning, Years 7–8 audience)
  • Friday 27 November – Show 2: 6.30pm
  • Saturday 28 November – Show 3 at 2.00pm and Show 4 at 4.30pm
